Prof. SD Wanniaracchi Professor Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ruhuna
	Prof. Sudas D. Wanniarachchi is the founder Head of the Department of Soil Science,Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ruhuna and has previously been the Head of the Department of Agricultural Chemistry of the University of Ruhuna. He graduated with a BSc Honors degree in Agriculture from the University of Ruhuna and received his MSc and PhD degrees in Soil Science from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada. He has held positions as a Visiting Scientist at the National Institute of Radiological Sciences in Japan; Visiting Academic Fellow at the School of the Environment & Natural Resources, Bangor University in UK and Visiting Professor at the Department of Agronomy, Kansas State University in USA. His research interests are in soil organic matter dynamics and carbon sequestration, nutrient cycling in agroecosystems, sustainable land management and soil quality.
