Prof. DPIN Pathirana Professor Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ruhuna
	Indunil Pathirana is a Professor in the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture University of Ruhuna. He is a Fellow of Sri Lanka College of Veterinary Surgeons. He has specialized in Animal Reproduction and current research focused on investigating the hormonal dynamics of farm and wild animal species in male sexual development. He has served as a reviewer for several SCI-indexed and other reputed, peer-reviewed journals and serves as an Associate Editor for the Asian Journal of Medical and Biological Research. In 2024, he has been appointed as the Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Sri Lanka Veterinary Association and served as the Conference Chair of the 76th Scientific Sessions of the Sri Lanka Veterinary Association. Professor Pathirana is actively involved in a campaign on "access to animal-sourced protein" to dispel myths about chicken meat and eggs. In this regard he uses public media including popular TV channels to educate the public on these issues.
